Injured patients would be denied patient choice and would not be allowed to choose acupuncture therapy for treatment if a proposed Senate bill 1860 is passed by the Florida state legislature.
SB 1860, the Automotive Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance reform bill sponsored by Senator Negron (R), would eliminate acupuncture treatments by licensed acupuncturists from covered expenses. Only licensed acupuncturists (under Chapter 457) are being singled out for exclusion. Click here to read the complete press release from Florida State Oriental Medicine Association (FSOMA).
